Thunderbirds and Blue Angels Flyover City List

The military has officially announced the first four cities where the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and U.S. Navy Blue Angels will perform flyovers as part of Operation America Strong.  Cities with times and dates in BOLD have been officially announced.  Additional cities on the list below are unofficial and come from an article published by the Washington Post on April 22nd and a follow up article by USA Today on April 24th.  The schedule is subject to change and additional cities could be added.

The Thunderbirds and Blue Angels flyover of these cities is a collaborative salute from the Navy and Air Force to recognize healthcare workers, first responders, and other essential personnel while standing in solidarity with all Americans during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Residents in these areas will be able to see the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels flyover from the safety of their home-quarantine and should maintain all social distancing guidelines during these events. They should also refrain from traveling to landmarks, hospitals and gathering in large groups to view the flyovers.  Cities will be officially announced with a date and time 2-3 days in advance.  A detailed flight route will be released the day prior to each flyover and we will post it here on the @AirDotShow website.  To get notified immediately when more info becomes available Click Here to follow our Facebook page and be sure to select “See First” from the following tab.  To read the full press release from the Thunderbirds Click Here

Stinks they won’t be a little further up in New York. They go around White Planes and I’m 40 minutes North of White Plaines. Awesome nonetheless.

If the flight path is set up like the Thunderbirds did in Las Vegas it will criss cross the city so everyone can catch a glimpse of the inspiring sight of these two teams flying together from their home.

Us too….our son is a Navy F-18A/E pilot…in quarantine on base before Squadron gets COVID19 tested and cleared to fly out to the carrier before deployment. Due to COVID19 travel and quarantine restrictions we were unable to see him off as we have done in the past. Seeing this flyover will be extra special to us. God bless America and God bless our military, first responders and all health care personnel on the front lines. GO NAVY! Thank you for doing this.

Based on the Thunderbird flyover in Las Vegas and that they have announced the NYC flyover will last 30 minutes, we are guessing they will plan a flight path that will criss cross the city and cover a large part of the metro area. The flight path is supposed to come out tomorrow.

We thank the military branches participating, and will be on the lookout in western NY next week when the Thunderbirds do their flyover, tho I really wish it was *BOTH* USAF and USNavy!!! Not often both fly together!! Thanks to all who are planning this USA-tour! I have seen the Blue Angels in Spain, and throughout the U.S. but mainly during their highly-anticipated air show during San Francisco’s October Fleet Week. Y’all stay safe and well, and thanks again!!!
