F-22 Raptor Demo

The Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor’s combination of stealth, supercruise and maneuverability represents an exponential leap in the advancement of fighter aircraft. The F-22 Raptor performs both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions and cannot be matched by any known or projected fighter aircraft.

The F-22’s advanced avionics and sensors allow the pilot to track, identify, shoot and eliminate air-to-air threats before ever being detected. The F-22 also has the ability to attack targets on the ground. The F-22 is a stealth fighter and virtually invisible to radar.  Because missiles hanging from the wings or on the wing tips create a radar signature, they are stored internally.

The twin engines on the F-22 Raptor produce more thrust than any current fighter. All that power combined with the sleek aerodynamic design allow the F-22 to cruise at supersonic airspeeds without using fuel-consuming afterburner.  Known as supercruise, this greatly expands the F-22 ‘s speed and range any current fighter. The sophisticated F-22 design, advanced flight controls and it’s unique thrust vectoring provide the capability to outmaneuver any other aircraft.  The F-22 Raptor demo putts thrust vectoring on full display as it makes sharp turns to skid though the sky and climbs straight up, stops in mid air, then reverses towards the ground before flipping the nose around in a summersault at near zero forward speed.

With the use of its unique thrust vectoring engine nozzles, the F-22 has the ability to turn on a dime and literally skid across the sky.
