The MC-130J Commando II is a specialized aircraft operated by the U.S. Air Force for clandestine, low-visibility missions supporting special operations forces. It conducts low-level infiltration, exfiltration, and resupply operations, as well as air refueling missions for special operations helicopters and tiltrotor aircraft, often penetrating politically sensitive or hostile territories. Primarily flying at night to reduce the risk of detection and interception, the MC-130J is equipped with advanced avionics, integrated digital navigation systems, and six-bladed, all-composite propellers, enabling it to operate in austere conditions. Its secondary mission includes the airdrop of leaflets.
