Position Type: Part-Time Employment or Independent Contractor

2024 Locations: Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Augusta, New York, Ocean City, MD Atlanta

Position Overview

As the Volunteer Coordinator, you will be responsible for recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteers to ensure the smooth execution of the Air Dot Show Tour. This role requires excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for creating memorable experiences for both volunteers and event attendees.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to recruit volunteers in each destination for various roles.
  • Collaborate with local communities, organizations, and online platforms to attract a diverse and dedicated volunteer pool.
  • Create comprehensive training materials and conduct orientation sessions for volunteers.
  • Ensure volunteers are equipped with the necessary information and skills to perform their roles effectively.
  • Develop volunteer schedules in coordination with each destination’s overall event schedule.
  • Communicate regularly with volunteers to confirm availability and provide event details.
  • Oversee volunteers during events, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Address any issues or concerns that may arise during the Air Dot Show Tour.
  • Implement recognition programs to acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of volunteers.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive volunteer community.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in volunteer coordination or event management is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Ability to travel to each Tour destination for the event and any pre/post site visits.
  • Passion for aviation and events is a plus.
