Patrouille de France Flies Over New York City Ahead of Air Dot Show Ocean City

Spectators across New York City looked to the skies today as the Patrouille de France, the official aerobatic demonstration team of the French Air and Space Force, conducted a stunning flyover of some of America’s most iconic landmarks as part of its historic “Liberté 250” mission.

Flying their distinctive Alpha Jets in tight formation, the world-famous French demonstration team soared above New York Harbor, the Statue of Liberty, and the Manhattan skyline while trailing the signature blue, white, and red smoke that has made the Patrouille de France one of the most recognizable aerial display teams in the world.

The flyover is part of “Liberté 250,” a special deployment commemorating the 250th anniversary of American independence and celebrating the enduring alliance between France and the United States. The mission honors France’s critical role in America’s fight for independence and highlights more than two centuries of friendship, freedom, and shared military and aviation heritage between the two nations.

Following the New York City flyover, the Patrouille de France continued its journey to NASA Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia ahead of its highly anticipated debut at the Ocean City Air Show. The appearance will provide one of the few opportunities for American audiences to experience the world-renowned French demonstration team during its special “Liberté 250” deployment.

Known for their precision formation flying, dynamic crossing maneuvers, and elegant aerial choreography, the Patrouille de France has represented France around the world for more than seven decades and remains one of the premier military flight demonstration teams in aviation.

The Patrouille de France will perform over the beaches of Ocean City alongside the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, the F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team, and an exciting lineup of military and civilian performers during the Ocean City Air Show on June 13-14.

The Ocean City Air Show takes place June 13-14, 2026, over the beaches of Ocean City, Maryland. For tickets and event information, click here
