Classic Elegance Takes Flight as Mark Meredith joins the Tour in 2025!
Mark Meredith, a retired U.S. Navy Captain and seasoned aviator, is set to bring his unique blend of vintage charm and aerobatic prowess to the 2025 Air Dot Show Tour. Performing under the banner of ClassicAirshows.com, Mark will showcase his meticulously restored 1951 de Havilland DHC-1 Super Chipmunk, affectionately known as “Chippy,” at key tour destinations including Central PA, Ocean City, MD, and New York in the Hudson Valley.

Mark’s aviation journey began at the U.S. Naval Academy, leading to a distinguished 26-year career as a Bombardier/Navigator in the A-6E Intruder, operating from aircraft carriers such as the USS Theodore Roosevelt. After retiring in 2004, he pursued his passion for flight, earning his pilot’s license at age 47 and transitioning into the world of competitive aerobatics and airshow performances. Today, he also serves as a flight instructor at the Navy Annapolis Flight Center in Maryland, where he introduces students to the thrills of aerobatic flight in “Chippy.”
“Chippy” boasts a rich history, having served as a military trainer with the Royal Air Force before taking on roles as a crop duster and glider tug in Australia. When Mark acquired the aircraft in 2009, it needed significant restoration. Over five years and 5,000 hours of dedicated work, he transformed it into a show-stopping aerobatic performer, earning the prestigious Experimental Aircraft Association’s Lindbergh Award for restoration excellence.
Mark’s airshow routine is a harmonious blend of vintage elegance and dynamic aerobatics. His performances feature classic maneuvers such as loops, slow rolls, hammerheads, and the signature cloverleaf, all executed with precision and flair. The open cockpit and art-deco livery of “Chippy” evoke the golden age of aviation, offering spectators a nostalgic yet exhilarating experience.
