Position Overview

The Air Dot Show Tour is seeking an experienced motorcoach driver to transport our luxury Class A diesel motorcoach to and from select event destinations across the country.

We are looking for someone with experience driving and operating large Class A motorhomes or comparable motorcoaches who is comfortable with the basic systems and operation of a modern luxury RV. Experience with Newmar coaches and the SilverLeaf coach management system is a plus, but is not required.

The primary responsibility of this position is the safe transportation, positioning, and basic care of the coach. Drivers may choose to simply transport the coach to and from each destination or, for those interested, remain with the Tour during the event and become part of the behind-the-scenes experience.

For someone who enjoys aviation, travel, and live events, the position can offer a unique opportunity to experience the Air Dot Show Tour from the inside, including interaction with pilots and aircrews, up-close experiences with participating aircraft, and the opportunity to work alongside our event operations team.

Coach Transportation & Responsibilities

• Safely drive the motorcoach to and from designated Air Dot Show Tour destinations.
• Coordinate travel schedules, routes, fuel stops, overnight stops, and arrival times with the Air Dot Show team.
• Position the coach at event sites and other designated locations.
• Conduct appropriate pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Monitor basic operating requirements including fuel, DEF, tires, batteries, and fluid levels.
• Understand and operate the primary systems found in a modern Class A diesel motorcoach.
• Operate leveling systems, slides, generator, electrical hookups, water systems, climate controls, and other basic coach functions.
• Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and professional appearance of the coach while traveling.
• Identify and communicate mechanical, maintenance, or operational concerns.
• Become familiar with the specific operation of our Newmar New Aire and its SilverLeaf coach management system.
• Ensure the coach arrives safely and on schedule and is properly positioned and ready for use at each destination.
• Return the coach to its designated location following an event or coordinate transportation to the next Tour destination.

Flexible Level of Involvement

This position can be tailored to the driver’s level of interest.

Some drivers may prefer to focus exclusively on transporting the coach between destinations and positioning it at the event site. Others may choose to remain at the destination through the event weekend and become more involved with the Tour.

Drivers who elect to stay with the event will have the opportunity to experience the Air Dot Show from behind the scenes, spend time on the airfield as part of the team, interact with participating pilots and aircrews, see aircraft and event operations up close, and assist with event operations if they would like to do so.

Participation in event operations is not required. The essential responsibility of the position is safely transporting and caring for the motorcoach.

Behind-the-Scenes Tour Experience

For drivers who would like to become more involved while at an event, opportunities may include:

• Spending event week alongside the Air Dot Show team on the airfield.
• Interacting with participating pilots, performers, and aircrews.
• Experiencing participating aircraft and aviation operations up close.
• Seeing firsthand how a major public aviation event is produced.
• Assisting with transportation, logistics, setup, or other event functions if interested.
• Becoming part of the team environment throughout the event weekend.

The level of involvement can vary by event and by the driver’s interests and availability.

Qualifications

• Experience driving large Class A diesel motorhomes, motorcoaches, buses, or comparable vehicles.
• Comfortable operating a modern luxury motorcoach and its basic systems.
• Appropriate driver’s license and qualifications to legally operate the coach.
• Clean driving record and demonstrated commitment to safe vehicle operation.
• Ability to perform basic pre-trip inspections and recognize potential mechanical or operating issues.
• Comfortable driving long distances and maneuvering a large coach in parking areas and event environments.
• Familiarity with basic RV electrical, generator, water, climate, leveling, and slide systems.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with the Air Dot Show team regarding travel schedules and coach requirements.
• Willingness to travel, including overnight and weekend travel.
• Experience with Newmar motorcoaches is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with the SilverLeaf coach management system is preferred but not required.

Work Schedule

This position will support select destinations on the Air Dot Show Tour. Assignments will typically include travel to a destination before an event and transportation of the coach following the event or to its next destination.

Drivers who prefer a transportation-only role may depart after positioning and turning over the coach. Drivers who would like to experience the event may remain with the Tour through the event weekend.

Travel schedules vary by destination and may include extended driving days, overnight stops, early departures, and weekend travel. Travel will be planned to provide adequate time for safe coach operation and timely arrival.
