Security Manager

Position Type: Part-Time Employment or Independent Contractor

2026 Locations: Cocoa Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Central PA, Ocean City, MD, New York, Orlando, Atlanta

Position Overview

As Security Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the safety, security, and operational success of the Air Dot Show Tour across multiple event locations. This position is responsible for coordinating private security planning, working with local law enforcement and emergency services, and supporting on-site event operations to help ensure a safe and well-managed environment for guests, staff, vendors, and performers.

This role includes both offsite planning responsibilities and on-site event support, working closely with the Air Dot Show Tour operations team, security vendors, and public safety partners.

Responsibilities

Security Planning and Coordination

  • Coordinate private security bids for each Air Dot Show Tour event.
  • Attend weekly planning calls during active event preparation periods.
  • Work with the operations team to facilitate deposits, payments, and vendor coordination once security plans are approved.
  • Confirm staffing plans, schedules, and operational timelines with selected security contractors prior to each event.
  • Assist in planning security coverage, perimeter layout, access points, and overnight security needs.

Law Enforcement and Public Safety Coordination

  • Coordinate with local, county, and state law enforcement in conjunction with private security teams.
  • Support communication and coordination with emergency services and public safety agencies.
  • Help ensure a secure event perimeter and effective crowd management approach.
  • Communicate security updates, recommendations, and concerns with the Air Dot Show Tour operations team.

On-Site Security Operations

  • Work directly with the Air Dot Show Tour Site Manager or Operations Lead during event week.
  • Participate in daily briefings and security debriefs.
  • Support radio communications and operational coordination throughout the event.
  • Monitor security coverage and recommend adjustments based on site needs.
  • Remain on site through show close, attendee egress, and site clearance as needed.
  • Coordinate with overnight security teams to support site sterilization and secured areas.

Operational Support

  • Assist with event setup, breakdown, and general site operations as needed.
  • Help maintain organized and secure access to restricted areas, staff zones, and operational spaces.
  • Support the overall event team in resolving site-related issues during event week.
  • Perform additional event duties as reasonably assigned to support successful show execution.

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow all Air Dot Show Tour safety procedures and professional conduct standards.
  • Help ensure compliance with applicable local regulations, site rules, and event policies.
  • Maintain any required licenses, permits, or certifications necessary to perform services in each event jurisdiction.
  • Promote a safe working environment for staff, vendors, and attendees.

Qualifications

  • Experience in security management, event security, law enforcement coordination, or live event operations preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced outdoor event environments.
  • Comfortable coordinating with law enforcement, private security vendors, and event staff.
  • Ability to work extended hours during event weeks as needed.
  • Must be able to travel to various Air Dot Show Tour locations.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to changing conditions.

Work Schedule

Security Managers are typically engaged from T-4 through T+1 for each event, with additional planning coordination prior to event week. Standard workdays are approximately eight (8) hours, with possible extensions up to twelve (12) hours depending on event needs.
